SHIP BUILDING

Keyhole TIG offers huge benefits to the ship building industry in speed and efficiency, along with minimizing sheet distortion.

The world-leading technology of K-TIG allows many thicknesses of material in a single pass. The process also requires little or no filler material. By eliminating much of the filler material, the accuracy and the strength of the weld is improved, reducing the chance of distortion in the bonded metal sheets.

This greatly improves the strength of the weld, reduces the chance of corrosion, as there is almost no foreign material in the weld, and provides maximum weld integrity.

Not only does K-TIG take one tenth (or less) of the time of traditional TIG welding, but its deep penetration makes single-side welding possible. This eliminates the need for turning over large metal sheets, which aside from being costly, is a huge safety risk.

The automation of the K-TIG system with intelligent control, means there is much less chance for human error or imperfections.

All this adds up to a greatly improved bottom line for any ship building operation.
